"Came by late evening and took a while to take my order. The order took a long time (30 minutes) and canceled order. I saw that there was a couple of wrapped burgers sitting on the counter for 20 minutes or so and the manager said that was my food and was only waiting on the fries. "While working in south Texas for a few weeks, we ate here several times. There aren't many choices in town.... that we found. Sometimes, the service was pretty good, but we often got servers who couldn't speak English (we got really good at hand signals and pointing). The food was ok, I didn't crave anything when we decided to go.... I never found anything that I truly enjoyed. Vegetarian options: Veggie burrito is available... Funny enough, it was the only burrito that I could find on the menu."

"We haven’t had Stars burgers in years so we thought we’d try it out when driving thru Falfurrias. Let’s just say, I wish we’d gone to Whataburger. My husband ordered a burger with mayo, no onions, cheese, and bacon, tater tots, and a coke. Let’s just say that it’s a good thing that he ordered bacon, otherwise it would’ve been completely bland. I ordered a jr burger with mayo, no onion. The meat was as thin as a piece of lettuce, and there was an inch thick amount of lettuce on top of the meat. It’s a good thing that I love vegetables. The fries were fried well, but didn’t have salt at all. Is it too much too ask for at least a little flavor on such a basic meal?"

"You can taste the love that goes into this meal! Family owned for over 40 years, step into this café is like visiting your dear Grandma cuisine. What the decor lacks is made in the taste and quality of the food! I will agree with other reviewers .. the best tasting chicken fried steak...ever! Mashed and Fön fried taters were full of taste and comfort. The service was real and not rushed."
