"We stopped in for the first time, and I’m EMPHATIC about this place! Our new fave Castle Rock restaurant and there are so many good ones to choose from). We sat outside and the ambiance was lovely. Had the pasta purses for appetizer and we knew it was off to a great start. The lobster ravioli was dreamy and the bison bolognese killer. We couldn’t stop talking about how happy the food made us. And the service! Felt truly cared for a level of service that was top of its class. This is why you come here :"

This is a great little italian spot in downtown Castle Rock. The service was excellent and we all enjoyed our starters (crab cakes, burrata and arancini) along with mains (penne bolognese and veal marsala). That limoncello cake we ordered just to have a bite was pretty much gone by the time we left. Overall it 's a great place for some nice Italian food

"I've been going to Castle Cafe for quite a few years have never been disappointed with anything. The building is historic thank goodness they've maintained its original character. I'm not a fish eater, so I can't comment there. But the buffalo meatloaf, chicken fried chicken chicken fried steak are as good as it gets in Colorado. The soups are homemade (like everything else) are on spot the cream of asparagus is the best I've had, ever. But the real reason to go here is for the pan fried chicken. OMG, my mouth waters just typing pan fried chicken. I swear it's just like my grandma made in her well seasoned cast iron skillet. Oh so crispy on the outside, oh so moist on the inside. There's a fair number of elderly folks that come here with families etc., so they are a bit light on seasoning, but nothing a dash of salt pepper doesn't fix. The pan fried chicken isn't cooked ahead of time stuck under a heat lamp, so if you're not willing to wait the 30 minutes it takes to cook, go to KFC. The mashed potatoes are lumpy with skin on, just the way they should be. If you like mashed potatoes made of flakes from a box, go to Denny's. Homemade Parker rolls are served in a basket covered with a red white cloth napkin just like grandma did. Drenching them with the boat of cracklin' gravy is almost a meal in itself. Ohhh the cracklin' gravy, if I could get away with just guzzlin' a boat or two, I'd die happy be off to clogged artery heaven yes, it's that good! And the service it's like eating at someone's house with family serving you. They are a great group that try their darndest to make your visit a good one. So, if you like good ol' down home homemade cooking, have just a little patience to wait for good food to be prepared after you've ordered it, go to Castle Cafe. If you're an impatient whiny butt sniffler, stay the heck out of my town go eat hummus in LoDo."
