"This is the Waveland Cafe of Bar/Burger Joints! Seat yourself yes they are busy but so worth the wait. I have had 2 different meals here so far and both were awesome. First I had the Pork Tenderloin and I have never had one anything like this. It's like getting a chicken breast sandwich but it's pork. It's not a flat piece of pork hammered flat and breaded it's like a pork breast (if that's a thing) and it's awesome! I've also had the Pulled Pork sandwich and it was great too! Place was packed and I had to park on the west side of SW9th but I understand why. This place is awesome so expect to wait for a table like going to waveland cafe."

I have eaten here on two occasions for lunch. Each time the service was friendly, food came out fast, but best of all the food was well composed, with great flavor and visually enticing. A great spot!

We stopped in for the first time yesterday around 5pm for a very early dinner. The place was already hopping! We got seated and had an awesome server. The food was delivered with minimal wait and the owner (manager? was very welcoming and attentive. We will 100% return. Everyone was very happy with their food and drinks. Next time...no kids!

This place is amazing! The food is gourmet bar food if I can call it that and we've tried so many things on the menu but plan to come again and again! Great selection of beers and cocktails and daily specials! Patio is so cute! Please stop in and say hi to Josh he's a super nice manager and the wait staff is top notch and attentive! Definitely a hidden gem I want them to come to Altoona!

"The Coup de gras after I ran the Des Moines Marathon: I went down to see Dirt Burger in downtown Des Moines. What I got was the best veggie burger no, the best BURGER I ever had. Why? It was muddy and savory, saucy and full of different textures. It was a perfect mouth. Like a big Mac, only without the disappointing patty and bread in the middle. I know you'll say I forgot and taste like meat. No. I know for some people the ideal burger is a meat patty with fat that runs down your arm. I understand. I have preferred a veggie burger, and I think that is more interesting with many impractical tastes, and it's health food except that with so many whole food ingredients it is somehow. But it felt really exhausting for me, especially when I recommended it with their real potato frits and the tiger sauce the staff. And she was right. As they once said on my beloved show boss! with Lenny Henry, I never had a liquid as good as in my life. They had vegan shakes that looked absolutely amazing, but I had no one to share, and I knew that I would be in pain after I had everything in... I'm funny too, but I had a granola in the hotel room I was pretty excited about. Anyway, all this and gluten-free as I ordered it on the GF reel. The staff was also incredibly friendly. I'm seriously jealous that Iowa has this joint, but it's all for the best as I would win 5 lb a week if this place was on the street."
