"dark but living ambiente, as they enter. barbuzzo is a long, narrow restaurant. candlelit is the vibe for dinner. the bar seats are as posh as the tables, and they have a view of their open kitchen as well. they take reservations and also have a wine and cocktail list. this was one of the best meals I had! we ordered so much to eat, but I was too excited to eat it I did not take photos of much. Enjoy the calabrese pizza (we have it without oliven), tiramisu and their subtitles try: salted caramel budino. we also loved the picked ricotta, papas fritas, tufoli pasta and pan meerrote gnocchi. all were fantastic. I am definitiw back. the ambiente is beautiful here and we really liked our server...

Fantastic food and wonderful service. Thanks so much. Leave a little room for the budino. Seriously

Atmosphere was exactly what you hope for, private but not dark. The staff was attentive but knew to give us a little space. All the food was fantastic. The old fashion I ordered fell below my expectations, but that might just be me.

Food and service were absolutely perfect and did not miss a beat. We ate outside, ambiance was lovely. We are new to Philly’s outdoor seating; although there is heating, in 20 degree weather expect to still be a little chilly so layer up accordingly! We had Christine and she was phenomenal. Ask for her if you can. She truly took amazing care of us. Never made us feel rushed, everything came out super fast. Our drinks all were great. If you’re in the area, this place is a must. And get the Hanger Steak we all agreed it was the star of the show. My husband likes it rare and it was cooked (chef kiss) to perfection. Cheers!

"We were there celebrating two birthdays. Our server Faith was wonderful. She was attentive without being intrusive and knowledgeable about the menu. We were a table of 6 and ordered quite a bit of food, some of which was great and others lackluster. The bao buns were great and the small calamari salad was huge and those who had it said delicious. The spareribs were good as well as the edamame dumplings, although the way those were served made it hard to fully enjoy. Each dumpling should be on a individual type spoon so you can enjoy the soup part as well as the dumpling. The way they were served in one large bowl with only one spoon made it so the soup part is left at the bottom. I did request extra spoons from the expediter but they never came. The worst part of our appetizer course was somehow an item was switched to another in the computer and served to us. It had shellfish in it and that wasn’t known when someone at our table who doesn’t eat shellfish ate it. The sashimi was good but the tuna tartare thing was really bad. The entrees we had were the duck, which I was told was delicious, the miso cod, which was fishy, the whole fish which was tasteless, the lobster fried rice, which was okay but lacking flavor. The best dish was the black pepper beef, it was delicious and elegantly served. We had all the sides and all were quite good especially the eggplant and the wasabi mashed potatoes. It was a nice evening but it felt a little stale for a Starr restaurant."
