"I had never heard of this place and based on the really small number of reviews lots of other people are unaware of it. It is worth visiting here as it's fine dining plus fantastic service and a great setting. Part of the issue might...be what it's called as the card has Das Bamberger Haus on it as well as zum Ferdinand, where we ate and Cia Francesco which is an Italian restaurant in the same building. Located in Luitpold Park it was a very easy 5 minute walk from Scheidplatz U bahn station on U3 and I think U2. Leave by exit F, turn right into the park and its about 2 minutes walk. Or just get a taxi as it is probably only 10 minutes or so from city centre. Food was fantastic, the sailing...

Fantastic building and architecture. I had the schnitzel and that was huge but pricey at 22 Euros. Lovely atmosphere but it gets very busy so book.

Zum Ferdinand is ine of two restaurants in the same building (take the correct entrance on street level . Friendly and efficient staff serve german dishes with a trendy twist. Try the 5 course menu (50€ with carefully picked wine selection (27€ . Nice place to spend...an evening!

Our entire dinner experience was fantastic. The ambience was perfect lighting, candles and overall decor was romantic, or perfectly set for a quiet dinner out with friends. The food was amazing we had the Spinach dumplings, Schnitzel, and Fried Chicken and these dishes...did not disappoint. We were most impressed by the fluffiness of the batter for the meat dishes, and the creative use of mushrooms with the dumplings. Also, must have the homemade bread for starters. Highly recommend this restaurant, and we would definitely come back when we visit Munich again.

"my man and I were in a few for a family birthday party. we had some time for us and took public transportation to visit schloss nymphenburg, which was a wonderful excursion also on a windy, wintery afternoon. not quite ready to return to the house...we googled Italian restaurants near me. the one we visited first did not take any plastic. the second location was solo italia. it was a Friday night and the place jumped around 19 o'clock. we didn't even think we were making a reservation, and everyone was taken table. no problem, we could order the cash. it followed several hours of relaxation, delicious eating, weeping and atmosphere. we ordered the green salads that are large, fresh, and most welcome after days very little green on our tellers. pasta bolognese and spaghetti carbonara were excellent. we did not try out the pizzas, although they looked fantastic (and they produced, kept all waiting workers and our bar-tenders very busy to mante the many.) solo italia is a place that prices were much less than the fancier sites round, but the quality of the food was comparable. it was simply a funny, bouncing place. a scream from our barkeeper maurice d. he was very busy with the drinks orders, the semi-trailer pizza and in the regular good work. he still managed to be polite and attentive that we were sitting on his bar. very professional and personal. if they are on the look for a great Italian place outside the Munich city center (but easily reached by tram 25) try solo italia, they have a great time!"
