"I'm not sure how two spaces separated by a single door can be so different. The lobby of the Seelbach is ornate, classical, and inspired. Through the door into Gatsby's on 4th and all of that is blindingly stripped away and a simple restaurant with a buffet on portable tables is all that's left. This could be literally anywhere. It was not what I expected given that it bears the name of the character that the hotel inspired, one who is wealthy, entertaining, and a fixture of American literature. No one is going to be writing a book based on this place. White walls with sparse decoration. Some interesting sconces. Its plain. Its boring. But hey, not everything has to inspire a novel, right?...

Overpriced complete joke. Our Hilton Diamond credit won't even cover this expanded Hampton Inn bfast ...and by expanded I mean they serve more than one meat on a Sunday.

Thought it would be the standard, quality Hilton breakfast this morning, but oh no. Buffett only. No problem. No breakfast tea. Eggs smelled like fish. And the sausage was burned to black. They need to overhaul what they are doing here.

Stayed at the Seelbach and ate the breakfast offered to Honors members. It was low grade dog food. The eggs were powered scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy had no flavor. Potatoes were over seasoned. Bread box had fruit flies in it. And the staff hovered over us like we were going to steal the silverware, very creepy. We didn't eat here the rest of our stay- we paid to eat out. This place should be shut down

"First let me say the atmosphere is amazing, although a little loud, but in an exciting sort of way, not in a can 't hear your conversation sort of way! Our server, Christian, was amazing! He is absolutely one of the best in the business! He was knowledgable about the menu, the history of the building, bourbon and wine and more! Now on to the food! The crab cake appetizer was the very best we had ever eaten! It was pure crab with just enough bread crumbs on the outside to hold it together! Just big hunks of crab! Yum! We had heard so many times that Repeal had the best steaks in the city so we had to check it out. I am sad to say we do not agree! My filet was overcooked and actually charred on one side even though I ask for it to be medium well (a little pink). My husbands steak was under cooked even though he ask for medium well also. Yes, we could have sent them back, but unless something is inedible, we rarely do. We were just disappointed more than anything, steaks were still very edible and good, just not great! The $20 twice baked potato was not worth $20 even though it did have slices of truffle on top and truffle oil as an ingredient. The Caesar salad was a disappointment! The addition of white anchovies was different but did not elevate the salad in our opinion. The bread pudding was amazing! I highly recommend! Oh, the cocktails were subpar! I know this sounds like a total tear down of Repeal, but it is not! I think we had too high expectations and were just let down by our experience considering the price! So, with all that said, would I go back? Yes! I would but would chose very different menu items than this time. And I would probably skip cocktails and go for wine instead."
