"We asked our friends from the Village of Oak Creek where they would like to have dinner one evening. They chose, Manzanita, a restaurant they had not visited for some while. We 're so glad they did. The atmosphere was one of fine dining with a menu selection of German traditional food, steaks, game and some seafood. The choice of wine, whilst not extensive, provided quality and options. All the food chosen by our party was of a high standard and cooked to perfection. It was interesting that the owners have stuck with the tradition of 'soup or salad ' a lovely little twist to the evening. Another nice gesture was for Randy, the chef owner, to walk amongst the tables and talk to the guests about the food and other general chit chat. The service was not quite upto European standard. The servers need some continuation training, especially the younger ones. To enhance the experience, maybe some of the attributes of 'silver service ' should be considered. With communication being a key, not hand gestures and piling the plates on the table. All staff were friendly and knew their role, so the quality of waiting-on did not detract from us having a wonderful evening. I would suggest confirming any booking verbally, as the venue is rightly very popular especially on prime rib nights.."
