"This izakaya is a jewel in Sugar House. They are going for a mix of traditional but also fusion Japanese tapas and for the most part they get it right. Authenticity may be slightly compromised but overall undoubtedly they have made a genuine effort. Everything is pretty much awesome, from the beef to the fish, tempura to the rolls. The place is not overly swanky but can pass for a date place, also a business meal, or even family with kids I'd say. But what really makes this place hum are the reasonable prices compared to the caliber of the food. My group had a lovely time and will definitely return!"

Tucked back off of 2100 S, this restaurant has nothing to hide. The okonomiyaki was delicious and the vegetable tempura was just right. The sushi was good too. Very reasonably priced.

First off you have to get the sushi tacos. They are so good and I always eat them too quick to get a picture. Great sushi. Amazing drinks. I love this place. People obsess over Takashi but this place is just as good and some items are even better (like the sushi tacos).

This was a phenomenal restaurant!!! It is tucked back in between buildings but well worth finding. The ambiance, decor, food, and staff make it 5 stars. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and was very friendly. The tuna tartar wasn?t some of the best I have ever had!! I don?t live in SLC but visit often and would not hesitate in coming back to eat at this restaurant nor would there be any hesitation in recommending this to friends and family that live here. A million thanks for a most wonderful dining experience.

"I speak as a tourist. I was delighted this place has dedicated, on-the-menu options – as it is apparently open late, it would seem to be worth keeping in mind for that reason. This, and the empanada's great value, lead me to give it three stars. That said, there were some oddities. I got the vegan arepa and the vegan empanada. They were both filled with *exactly the same ingredients* and the empanada was bigger than the arepa – but the arepa costs more than 2x as much. Given these circumstances, and the fact that I liked the empanada more, I can see the empanada being a great deal for a vegan looking late night or for a bit of variety. Both of them were on the bland side, however, and far from imaginative. I did enjoy the plantains in both; otherwise, it was mainly black beans and some avocado. (From the menu, it appears that their several vegan items seem mainly to be rearranging these same ingredients. The small amount of chimichurri I was given added some flavor and was ok, but did not knock my socks off. None of it was bad, and I do think they made at least the arepa fresh with decent ingredients, but there just wasn't much flavor. Finally, they use big styrofoam packaging for to-go, which is actually enough to mean I would avoid eating here again. (Not being a local, I don't know how common this is, but I know it's not even nominally recyclable in SLC and that not all places do it. Updated from previous review on 2021-09-05"
