"The atmosphere and service are great. However, the food leaves a lot to he desired. We started out with the cheese plate and crab cakes. Those were both good. Then our table had the falafel, two steaks, creamy tomato soup, and I had the mushroom stroganoff. The falafel was dry. The steaks were cooked okay but the sides (twice baked potato and squash were mediocre. My stroganoff was so salty I couldn't eat much of it. The salt overpowered any other flavors it had. (They did take that off our tab. Our drinks were good. Our server was very nice. It's a beautiful atmosphere. But for a total check of around $245 (without tip , I expect much more from the food. I would recommend going for drinks...

Going downhill, at least as of last occasion. WA Frost, same owner, is better.

The bistro steak was tender and very flavorful. The beets sidedish with blue cheese and pepitos was wonderful. Service and ambience were great. Will be back. Anxious to try the new pot pies.

The most beautiful restaurant/bar in the Twin Cities..at least that I've been to...and the food is very good. We took friends from Edina who had never been to the Commodore and our only complaint was having to abandon the dining room, where our reservation was, for the bar. The noise level in the dr is way too high for comfortable conversation; bar was much better though still plenty energetic on the rating scale. Excellent scallops for me; don't remember what others ate.
