"from bad to bad. we had a reservation at the slc location, but changed last minute to the midvale location when we happened to be closer. we were told a ten-minute waiting period that turned in nearly 30 with other groups sitting before us who arrived after us. but the place was empty! there was great confusion between managers who walk and host without aim, who cried over the reception area to communicate. After our waitress had treated us just like an inconvenience and not even stayed at our table to talk, but asked how it was when she flew by. we sat near the bar that had a tw and manager and workers gathered around them around the...more"

I really wish I had kept the reception so I could come back directly to the manager of our waitress, but since I didn't have it, it has to do. good Italian restaurants are hard enough to get to slc and if they come as expensive as these, they expect better. So I was totally thrown away and incredibly disappointed by this visit. Yesterday my little girls were 1st birthday, so we decided to celebrate buca di beppo. to begin, I informed the waitress that it was the first that our baby thought she could say something, but she just looked at her and said, oh the nice it didn't get better...read more

"We must have done something wrong here as Del Barrio has so many high star reviews but that was not our experience. 1st, very different experience based on where you sit. We were a party of 2 during a busy time. We were put at a 2 top a few inches away from other 2 person tables. We could hear EVERY word the tables next to us said and I'm sure everything we said was heard by them. 2nd, the menu/value. This is my own fault but I still hold them accountable for the inconsistency. Waiter asked if we wanted chips and salsa, which is included, we said yes, he then asked if we wanted cheese (queso dip) with those. Chips were still free but queso was $12. I also added chili verde to my birria burrito which cost an additional $4.50. I asked for melted cheese and that was left out. Both of us ordered burritos and for the base price the portions are fair but careful adding anything to it. 3rd, food quality. The chips and queso was really good, but still not anywhere close to $12+ good. But the burritos were mostly refried beans that were extremely bland. We're talking sub Taco Bell quality beans. Picture showed maybe 20% beans in the burritos, additionally beans were listed as the 3rd/4th ingredient in the burritos but both of our burritos were 80% bean and very little meat. Imagine the beans from 2 Taco Bell bean and cheese burritos, with out the onions and red sauce, packed into a larger tortilla with a little bit of beef sprinkled in and that was the burritos we got. So after getting a bill for $50 (only 1 soda ordered) and below Taco Bell quality, I felt it was my moral imperative to warn others. I'm not saying don't go here, as I'm sure they have some good food there or there wouldn't be so many great reviews but we sure didn't find anything worth more than $5."
