"A local pizza/pasta place with Midwestern charm and large portions. The flavor in the sausage cacciatore was wonderful and the gluten free pasta was from a standard brand using rice flours, so the pasta itself was safe. All pasta dishes come with bread or a side salad, but I never received the side salad I ordered. Luigi 's has a reasonably priced GF pizza option, but I didn 't feel entirely comfortable ordering after seeing the shared kitchen space. My in-laws loved the variety and sheer amount of food on the regular menu. Unfortunately, on the car ride home I started feeling sick (just gluten-exposure symptoms and no allergic reaction thankfully). As a non-local visiting family, there were a few times when I didn 't feel as though the waitstaff took it seriously even though I mentioned a gluten allergy . The staff was friendly enough and was kind enough to bring out the package of pasta 5min or so after we asked on a slow Saturday. Gotta give them credit for being upfront on ingredients. It was the lag and giggling as they looked at my group 's table that set me on alert (as someone who grew up in the Midwest). If I 'm watching those staff interactions and literally telling my in-laws that I 'll take the stomach pains, GI distress, and potential anaphylaxis, I note that as a red flag. Maybe just my experience and/or some anxiety, but I would not recommend to the out-of-towner with a high gluten sensitivity despite gluten free options."
