"After opening this for lunch I had to check the market price for Gulf of Mexico shrimp 14.99/lb 6 to 8 shrimp or so . This dish left a lot to be desired. I won't complain about the sauce, just because it wasn't pleasing to MY palate. The shrimp were a bit overcooked and the texture of the grits was very rustic ? . Too rustic as if the corn was ground with one passing and then the grits were parboiled and served. To my surprise, even with all the sauce, the dish managed to leave my mouth dry. It seems like I should've given this a lower rating, but it was clean and the hostess was nice."

The restaurant was nearly empty when I visited midweek. I ordered the NOLA shrimp, which had a decent amount of flavor but a tad bit too much salt. The salmon dish was decent but seemed slightly undercooked. Avoid the Brussels sprouts at all cost; completely bland and flavorless. Service was efficient and friendly.

When I celebrated my birthday yesterday, which is today, and I must say the food is amazing! Our survivor, Willow, was AWESOME! She was very tender and knowledgeable for all her eating and drinking items! She proposed a couple of things to us since we had never eaten there. Willow, you're great, and we'll be back! Thank you for the excellent service!

Alligator cheesecake! What? The beef Bouruignon was so tender that it had to be shaken with the fork. It was too tender to put only one fork in it and pick it up. And this rum in the bread pudding! I don't even like bread pudding and I could do it again. It's too bad I have to go all the way to Baton Rouge to eat in Stroubes. This restaurant would be good everywhere.

"I have finally eaten at all of the fancy steak places I know of. Ruth’s, Sullivans, Buddys (Hammond , Flemings. Ruth’s was slightly more expensive than Flemings, but not by much. I ordered the ribeye at all of them for scientific research purposes. Food wise, Ruth’s has the best steaks, Flemings the best sides, and Buddy’s the best overall (it is by far the cheapest . The table bread was awesome. Steaks were cooked 100% perfectly, which is hard to get because medium means something different everywhere you go. I ordered the ribeye and my girl ordered the New York strip. The ribeye was better than the other three places ribeyes. My girl didn’t care for the New York strip, she said it was very salty. I didn’t notice, but the ribeye was definitely better. The salads were great. I ordered the chopped and my girl the Caesar. Both were great, and the chopped presentation was very unique. The sides were pretty disappointing. We ordered mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, and broiled tomato. The tomato must have had sugar on it, it tasted like ketchup. The creamed spinach was bland, and the mashed potatoes tasted homemade (which is good for $3 side, but for a fancy steak place at $10 it needs to be otherworldly . Gave my girl a cheesecake since we were celebrating her birthday. Probably the best cheesecake we have had. Overall a fantastic experience. Our waitress Diamond was excellent and friendly. The water glasses did not get less than half full (or empty? . Bathrooms were immaculate."
